The Palm Sunday service at Lion Walk Church, Colchester, 2012, incorporating a complete performance of Alan Bullard's cantata 'Wondrous Cross' sung by the small but enthusiastic Lion Walk Church Choir. The music is published by OUP and the picture shows the spire of Lion Walk Church (towards the right) seen across Colchester's roof tops. Colchester is Britain's oldest recorded town settled by the Romans in the first century AD. Towards the left of the picture you can see the tower of the Moot Hall - on the tower is a statue of St. Helena, who was born in Colchester. The mother of Constantine the Great, it is said that she brought the True Cross back from the Holy Land. You can also hear this piece on the CD 'Wondrous Cross' sung by Selwyn College Choir and available from Regent Records.
