The first performance of Alan Bullard's mini-concerto for clarinet and strings, Two Hands to the Pipe, performed by Antonia Mott and the St. Botolph's Symphony Orchestra, Colchester, director Colin Nicholson, in July 1995. Based on a Hebridean folk-song about a piper who enters a cave and is never seen again, this dramatic piece ends with the clarinettist slowly walking out of the hall into the unknown beyond.....
